ACCC don’t like Google’s PPC
Posted in: Google
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) launched a claim against Google’s PPC advertising program – AdWords, stating that the way the results are displayed is misleading due to the fact that there is no distinction between the organic results and paid advertisements (tagged as sponsored links).
The Australian newspaper reports on the incident – ACCC takes on Google or for the official report from the ACCC website – ACCC alleges misleading and deceptive conduct by Trading Post and Google.
Google have had many lawsuits from private companies and have even been subpoenaed by the US Government to hand-over search data… but this is the first incident where a government has attacked Google for misleading practices.
